Rural Retreat Lake
A 90-acre lake owned by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) near the town. Electric motors only. No swimming in the lake.
Species include largemouth bass, hybrid striped bass, muskellunge, northern pike, sunfish, channel catfish, and crappie. An adjacent pond is stocked with trout seasonally.
Visitors 17 and older without a Virginia hunting, freshwater fishing, or trapping license or a current boat registration need a DWR Access Permit.

About 72 sites, from primitive tent sites to water and electric sites, plus picnic areas, hiking trails, a playground, concessions, restrooms, a boat ramp, and a camp store or bait shop.
